FAQ:

Can I return back to standard ECU if i want to in the future?
- Yes! We made the kit so that you don't damage the original cables when you install it.

Do you offer base tune for E85 (ethanol) too.
- Yes, we include that in the kit too. You will get a link with access to several different tunes.

I have a VEMS / Motec / Haltech / AEM ECU in my car, does your adapter harness fit on that too?
- No, these adaptor harnesses fit exclusively on MaxxECU.

Can you build me an adapter harness for my car with a Holley / Nira / VEMS / Motec ECU then?
- Not at the moment.

Can I drive around town on the included base tune this summer and do a proper tune next year?
- The purpose with the base tune is just to start the car in your own garage. It is never fun to do the first start at a paid dyno session just to head home again due to low compression or an oil leak. The purpose of the base map is ONLY to start the car at home and do some light driving find those issues BEFORE you pay for a dyno session. We put in a lot of hours to make a good and safe base tune but we still can't recommend our customers to drive on it for longer periods of time.

What octane level is your gasoline base tunes made for?
- We made them for 95, but they work for 98 too of course.

Do you still offer remote tuning?
- Unfortunately not. Reason for this is that it's very time-consuming for us to troubleshoot physical issues such as sparkplugs, ignition wires, fuses, fuel pumps, incorrectly connected wastegate hoses etc. over phone/webcam. It simply doesn't feel right to bill a customer if a significant portion of the time was spent troubleshooting physical issues rather than performing actual tuning. I recommend you to find a good tuner close to you instead (bad salesman here now).

Can i use a 4.9 oxygen sensor for the adapterkit?
- No. Maxxecu recommends a 4.2 oxygen sensor and that is what the adaptor harness is made for.

Can you do remote tuning on my car once i've installed the kit?
- Sorry, we do no longer perform remote tuning. Reason for this is simple. It is not fun for any of us to bill hours for troubleshooting issues that is time-consuming to find over phone/webcam such as blown fuses, damaged ignition cables, sparkplugs, vibrations etc. We recommend to find a good local tuner instead. (bad salesman here now).

Can you install the adapterkit on my car?
- We are usually booked a couple of months in advance, but contact me on erik@drivestore.se and we'll see what we can do.

Do you know any discussion groups on social media where I can learn more and ask questions about MaxxECU?
- Yes! Check "MaxxECU Nordic" and "MaxxECU projects" on Facebook. MaxxECU also have a very good support on their webpage.

Is MaxxECU safe to mount on my car?
- Yes. MaxxECU is a well-known product in the world of racing and tuning. Make sure to always use a good engine tuner to avoid unnecessary risk and damages.

Is 875cc injectors good for my planned power output?
- 875cc injectors are good up to 500whp on gasoline or 400whp on E85 on a 4cyl engine. If you want more hp, contact me by mail.

Do I really need a wideband lambda?
- It is needed during tuning. Other than that it is "only" a safety tool to make sure that the air/fuel ratio is good. However we recommend all our customers to have one installed. It is better to cut down on other things if the budget is tight.

Which version of MaxxECU shall i choose?
- To boil it all down:
Street: Good ECU that does the job but most customers will miss the bluetooth functionality in the future.
Sport: Bluetooth for wireless tablet, E-throttle. Holds second hand value better.
Race: Same as Sport but more inputs/outputs and knocksensor which might be good if you intend on pushing the car a bit more.

Will you sponsor my car?
- Unfortunately not. But send me a mail at Erik@drivestore.se if you and your friends want to buy 3+ harnesses and I'll give you a good deal.

Your tune is made for 1.1 bar. Can i use it on my car that only boost 0.6 bar?
- Yes. When a tuning file is made for 1.1 bar it means that it good for everything between 0 - 1.1 bar. You will need to get your boost up to 1.1 bar to get the full potential of the tuning file though.

Is a manual boost controller fine?
- Yes, it works fine. If you want a more exact boost or be able to trigger different boost levels through the ECU we recommend a mac-valve.

Is ethanol (E85) better?
- Yes, it is better from a power output perspective. But it contains less energy per volume so you might need larger injectors and better flow on your fuel pump to be able to deliver the extra power. It is also more damaging on all fuel components. So make sure to clean your injectors and fuel pump at least every winter if you plan on not using the car then. Otherwise you will shorten the life-span on your parts.

I bought a harness with standard ignition. Can i update to wastefire ignition later on?
- Yes. You need some basic electrical wiring tools a be able to read wiring diagrams etc. But it is possible to do this update by yourself.

Which fuel pressure do I need for your adapterkit?
- Our basetune is made for standard fuel pressure. If you later want to get more power a raised fuel pressure might be one way to go. It is easy to change in the tuning file. Discuss with your local tuner.
